Newspapers2 presents “newspapers2 in the newsroom” hosted and sponsored by the Sacramento Bee on July 9-12, 2012.
The workshop will feature “reader-based” news and feature writing for publications, digital photography training and editing skills using AP style guidelines. There will be complete lesson plans and curriculum materials for advisers. There will also be guest professional journalists to guide your progress. In addition, there will be a tour of the capitol hosted by a state senator and tour of the Sacramento Bee production facilities.
“Newspapers2 in the newsroom” is a comprehensive workshop for high school advisers, editors and photographers at the production and newsroom site of the Sacramento Bee in the capital city.
Registrations will be accepted through June 25, 2012. The $350 fee includes parking, the Wednesday afternoon capitol tour and the Thursday afternoon Sacramento Bee plant tour.
The Sacramento Bee’s conference room will be used for large- group instruction; individual breakout sessions will accommodate hands-on writing, photography and adviser projects.
