OMG! Convention is coming

Let the convention countdown begin. In less than three months, hundreds of student journalists from around the state will converge in Sacramento to celebrate Our Media Generation — OMG!

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to energize your staff for the year and gather great ideas and inspiration to take home. Here’s a preview of what to expect:

  • Exciting, cutting-edge sessions from media professionals in a variety of areas
  • Invigorating hands-on learning opportunities, like our photo and audio excursions
  • Opportunities for your students to network with students from others schools to build connections and share knowledge
  • On-site contests that will give your staff members the chance to practice their skills and gain recognition for their work
  • Best of the West, our carry-in contests, which rewards overall achievement among publications represented at the convention
  • On-site critique of your publications from leading advisers
  • The chance to explore the state capital, including historic Old Sacramento
  • And so much more!

For more information, check back here regularly where we’ll highlight featured speakers, explain more about what the convention will offer, and answer all of your logistical questions. Registration is open now, so don’t miss that early deadline of October 1, which locks in the $45 registration rate for you and your students. Remember that your JEANC membership must be current to attend.

Can’t wait to see you there!
