Enter your top seniors in the Journalist of the Year competition by Feb. 15, 2010. Send portfolio submissions to JEANC headquarters (c/o CNPA Services, 708 10th Street, Sacramento, CA 95814). Entries are judged by a panel of qualified journalism educators, and the winner will receive our organization's Arnetta Garcin Memorial Scholarship in addition to competing with the Southern California winner for the official state spot in the national Journalist of the Year contest sponsored by JEA. As you help your students prepare their portfolios, please carefully follow the instructions provided at JEA's Web site. This year's contest has one major change: candidates are recognized for their previous work with no requirement of majoring in journalism.
