The Best of the West contest included 23 submissions from 13 high schools. Entries were judged by a panel of professionals from the San Francisco Press Club.

Top honors went to the following:

Magazine: Verde Magazine, Palo Alto HS

Online News Website: The Oracle, Mountain View HS

Yearbook: The Galleon, Silver Creek HS

Literary Magazine: All That’s Lit to Print, Sequoia HS
