The election process for the 2023-24 JEANC Board of Directors kicked off on Nov. 8. All regular members (that is, members who live in the JEANC region and are current or former journalism teachers/advisers) are encouraged to participate.

How The Process Will Work:

1. Nominations for candidates are accepted today through Nov. 21.
2. Nominees will be notified and asked whether they accept the nomination around Nov. 22.
3. Nominees who accept must send a 100-word bio and photo to the president by Nov. 28.
4. Ballots will be sent by email to all regular members by Nov. 30.
5. Voting will close on Dec. 30 at 11:59 p.m.
6. The 19 candidates who receive the highest number of votes are elected to the Board. Results will be sent out to all members by Dec. 31. In the case of a tie, a run-off will be held in the first week of January.

Nominations to the Ballot

Any regular member can nominate up to 19 candidates; nominators should check with those they want to nominate to make sure they are willing to run and be on the board. Members can self-nominate. 

Regular members who would like to nominate someone can use this Form. They can use the form more than once, but must not nominate more than 19 candidates, total.
