All current JEANC members are encouraged to vote for the JEANC Board of Directors beginning Wednesday.
All regular members should receive an email at 4:30 a.m. PST on Nov. 15 with the ballot. Members who do not receive a ballot should first check their spam folders before contacting Tripp Robbins.
The Bylaws define a “regular member” as any current or former journalism teacher or adviser with a current membership.
All JEANC regular members may be nominated and run for office, and the ballot has spaces for write-in candidates. Individuals receiving the highest number of votes for the available positions, up to 19 total board members, will be elected.
The approval of the Bylaws revisions in September requires annual elections, with half the board standing each year. All current directors were elected last year to two-year terms, but due to the every-year voting transition, half of the board has volunteered to run again this fall. The board will now have even and odd-year groups; half of the board members will be selected each year.
The election will run through midnight, PST on Dec. 22, 2023. The new board will be announced within 24 hours on this website and by email.
