2022 NorCal Media Day

Join us to celebrate the return of NorCal Media Day on Saturday, Sept. 24, at Palo Alto High School, sponsored by the Journalism Education Association of Northern California. It’s a journalism party!

This event — which is free for all JEANC member advisers and their students — is your one-stop shop for upping your journalism game this year and also as a terrific warm-up for the NSPA/JEA national conventions in St. Louis in November and in San Francisco in April 2023!

Our program includes:

  • four sets of 45-minute sessions starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 2:15 p.m.
  • During each hour, you and your students can choose from among 15 sessions on everything from how to write a feature story to how to sell an ad to how to design an award-winning visual story.
  • Regardless of whether you’re working on a magazine, yearbook, broadcast, web, social media podcast or newspaper staff, you’ll hear from award-winning advisers and students as well as experts in the field who can help you and your staff improve for the 2022-2023 school year.

And lunch is on us!

Check-in for the event starts at 9 a.m. at the school’s inspirational Media Arts Center. A large group introduction will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m.

We’ve moved our popular JEANC contests to the spring and decided to focus our energies on publication critiques — so bring copies of your latest, and sign up in advance for a chat with an expert.
