JEANC advisers: your students are eligible!

JEANC launches logo design contest

In an effort to update the organization’s visual identity, the Journalism Education Association of Northern California has developed a logo design contest. Teachers can use the contest as an enrichment activity for advanced designers or as part of a lesson for the entire staff. The contest is an opportunity for students to gain authentic design experience.

Any student of a JEANC member adviser is eligible to enter. The contest will run March 1-30, 2019.

Judges will name a set of finalists to be part of an online critique in early April, during which time students can gain valuable feedback about their work. The winning logo design package will become the new visual identity for JEANC, and the student designer will receive $100 in addition to a certificate and recognition on the JEANC website.

The contest instructions include a link to the entry form. A teacher toolkit for advisers provides resources and materials related to logo design, typography, color and copyright. Students should review the contest materials and submission info before getting started on their logo designs.
